The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) is amongst the largest charities globally, having distributed >US$ 70 BN grant funding since its inception in 1994, promoting global economic development, health and gender equality amongst others.
Larive has been assigned by the BMGF to conduct a multi-country recurring monthly and quarterly in-depth analysis of the financial services sectors, with a specific focus on the digital payment landscape, in targeted countries in Asia (Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Indonesia) and Africa (Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia). The findings would allow a succinct update of innovations and trends that impact those at the bottom of the pyramid.
These analyses allowed the BMGF to keep track of the status, innovations, and developments in financial services sectors and the implications on macro, meso, and micro levels within these countries (financial inclusion, monetary policies, investments & partnerships by banks, fintechs and financial institutions).
