Den Hartogh Holding B.V. has 90 years of experience in providing logistics services to the chemical and petrochemical industry. Together with consortium partner Gröninger Cleaning Systems B.V., Den Hartogh requested Larive to perform a feasibility study for the establishment of a tank cleaning facility for transport tanks and bulk containers in South Korea. The containers are used to carry specialty chemicals and liquid foodstuffs and require special cleaning after delivery of goods at the client site.
A first fact-finding mission was undertaken to obtain the specific market information (customers, competitors, market potential, marketing) needed to prepare a business case. A second visit to South Korea was scheduled to gain further insight into specific aspects of the location, technical and environmental aspects.
In March 2016, Den Hartogh formally announced that the company had the intention to sell its business unit Depots. It was decided to terminate the feasibility study despite the promising results and ongoing activities at the time.
