FoodTechIndonesia successfully joined the Netherlands mission headed by Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Minister of Agriculture Sharon Dijksma and Minister of Trade & development cooperation Lilianne Ploumen to Indonesia from 20 to 22 November 2013.
Leading Dutch companies adding value to Indonesian poultry sector
Indonesia is an expanding market with a fast growing population. Strong economic growth results in opportunities for Dutch companies.
FoodTechIndonesia is a public-private initiative combining the strengths of leading Dutch companies active in the poultry value chain to improve and strengthen the poultry sector in Indonesia, in close cooperation with their Indonesian counterparts. Furthermore the initiative aims to encourage Dutch companies to establish/expand their presence and investments in Indonesia.
To implement improvements in the Indonesian poultry sector, the Dutch consortium will execute feasibility studies, set up pilot projects and offer training programs.
Indonesia – Netherlands Business Forum
During the Indonesia – Netherlands Business Forum on Wednesday November 20th, FoodTechIndonesia’s project coordinator Matthias Brienen presented the FoodTechIndonesia initiative in relation to the prospects & challenges of the agro-food business in Indonesia.
Special attention during the presentation went to the upcoming activities of FoodTechIndonesia, particularly those related to Food Security and “Business-2-Business”. You can download the presentation via this link.
Topsector Agri & Food
Agri & Food is among the leading economic sectors in the Netherlands and one of the priority sectors of the Dutch government (“topsector”). The Dutch government aims to strengthen its international position in this sector, by investing in, amongst others, knowledge, innovation and international business development. Mrs. Suzanne van Tilburg headed the Dutch Agri & Food sector during the economic mission.
On Thursday November 21st the Dutch companies active in the Agri & Food sector visited companies & institutes in the greater Jakarta region. The program included visits to a wet market, an outlet of Lotte Mart (wholesaler), Bogor Agriculture University and a closed house poultry farm.
Larive Indonesia has been responsible for the coordinating of both the agro-food and horticulture topsector field visits.
