Background

Maik Voets is an experienced business consultant with a demonstrated history of project management in multi-stakeholder projects. He has worked and lived in Ethiopia, Uganda, and the Philippines, where he served as a business advisor for farmer organizations. He also has experience in the FMCG sector, ensuring adherence to quality standards when importing food products from South & South East Asia into Europe.

At Larive he mostly works on projects covering the food industry, focused on value chain development, market research and due diligence.

His experiences across Africa, Asia, and Europe have shaped him into a well-rounded team player who easily connects across cultures and applies a holistic approach to the design and execution of projects in the context of emerging markets.

Education

• Wageningen University: Master’s degree in Food Quality Management. In his graduating assignment, Maik studied the impact of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive on the value chain for fresh fruits and vegetables.
• HAS University of Applied Sciences: Bachelor’s degree in International Food and Agribusiness.
